·

Introduction to the OKX Web3 Wallet

The OKX Web3 Wallet is a non-custodial, decentralized multi-chain wallet designed to offer global users a comprehensive solution for asset management, secure storage, and transfers. By generating an on-chain identity through a single set of seed phrases, it enables users to manage assets across multiple networks—including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and many others—more securely and conveniently. The wallet is accessible on various platforms such as iOS, Android, and browser extensions, and it supports the import of multiple seed phrases as well as derived addresses.

Currently, the OKX Web3 Wallet supports over 80 blockchains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, OKC, Solana, BSC, Polygon, Avalanche, Tron, and Arbitrum. It automatically recognizes connected wallets without requiring manual chain switching. The wallet features a built-in cross-chain token swap aggregator (DEX), an all-in-one on-chain investment tool (DeFi), a heterogeneous multi-chain aggregated trading platform (supporting Crypto, Ordinals, and NFTs), and a DApp discovery section. With the OKX Web3 Wallet, users can easily access more than 1,000 DApp protocols, making it a true gateway to the Web3 ecosystem.

Key Advantages of the OKX Web3 Wallet

Getting Started with the OKX Web3 Wallet

Downloading and Installing the OKX App

To begin using the OKX Web3 Wallet, download the OKX app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Alternatively, you can access the wallet via the OKX PC website or browser extension. Note that the OKX Web3 Wallet is integrated into the OKX exchange and does not have a standalone app.

Registration and Login

Open the OKX app and proceed with registration. You will need to provide both a mobile number (with the appropriate country code) and an email address. Follow the prompts to complete the registration process.

Creating or Importing a Wallet

  1. Create a New Wallet: After logging into the OKX app, switch to the Web3 Wallet section on the homepage. Click Create Wallet and choose a verification method, such as setting a wallet password or using biometric recognition. Confirm your choices to successfully create the wallet.
  2. Import an Existing Wallet: If you already have a wallet, select Import Existing Wallet and use your seed phrase or private key to restore it.
  3. Backup Your Seed Phrase: After creating a wallet, you must backup your seed phrase. OKX Wallet offers two methods: iCloud backup or manual backup. It is highly recommended to manually write down the seed phrase and store it securely.

A seed phrase, also known as a recovery phrase or seed phrase, is a list of words that stores all the information needed to recover a cryptocurrency wallet. Anyone with access to the seed phrase has control over the wallet, so keep it safe. Typically, a seed phrase consists of 12 English words.

  4. Verify the Seed Phrase: Follow the on-screen instructions to verify your seed phrase. Once confirmed, your OKX Web3 Wallet is ready for use.

How to View, Backup, or Export Your Seed Phrase or Private Key

To access your seed phrase or private key, open the wallet and click ▼ > Wallet Management > Backup Wallet. You can choose to backup either the seed phrase or the private key. Note that a single seed phrase corresponds to one wallet (including any derived wallets), allowing you to manage crypto assets across 70+ public chains. If backing up a private key, be aware that different public chains may have different private keys.

Creating a New Account

Click ▼ > + Add Account to create a new account. For example, all accounts under Wallet A share the same seed phrase and are known as derived wallets. You can rename wallets and accounts by clicking ▼ > Wallet Management > Edit Wallet. Note that currently, you cannot remove individual accounts once created. To remove an account, you must delete the entire wallet from the device and re-import it using the seed phrase. Wallets imported via private key do not support adding new accounts.

Resetting Your Wallet

The OKX Web3 Wallet is a non-custodial, decentralized multi-chain wallet. This means users have full control over their funds and private keys, and the platform does not store passwords or private keys. As a result, password recovery is not available. However, you can reset your wallet password by re-importing your seed phrase or private key.

To do this, open the Web3 Wallet, go to Account > Wallet Management, click Import Wallet, and select either Seed Phrase or Private Key. Follow the instructions to complete the process.

Managing Assets: Deposits, Transfers, and Currency Management

Depositing Funds

There are three ways to deposit funds into your OKX Wallet:

  1. Copy and Paste Wallet Address: Click the copy address icon, select the wallet address corresponding to the network you wish to use, and transfer funds to that address.
  2. Scan QR Code: Click Receive, search for the currency you want to deposit, select the appropriate network, and obtain the receiving address (copy it or use the QR code). Open another exchange or wallet, enter the copied address, or scan the QR code to complete the deposit.
  3. Quick Transfer from OKX Exchange Account: You can also quickly transfer funds from your OKX exchange account to your OKX Wallet. Note that this method incurs fees, which vary depending on the currency and network. To use this feature, click Receive on the homepage, then select Quick Transfer from Exchange Account.

Transferring Funds

Select the wallet and account from which you want to transfer funds (e.g., Wallet D-Account 01). Choose a currency like USDT, click Send, enter the recipient's address and the amount, set the network fee (default is average), and click Next to confirm.

Managing Currencies

On the wallet homepage, scroll down to Currency Management. Here, you can search, add, or remove currencies. Use the search bar to find currencies by name or contract address. Click + to add or - to remove a currency.

The OKX Web3 Wallet also supports adding custom currencies. Open Currency Management, click Custom Currency, select the corresponding network, choose a protocol, and fill in the currency identifier to add it.

Checking Currency Prices and Using DEX

The OKX DEX is a one-stop, multi-chain, cross-chain aggregated trading platform. It uses X Routing to automatically calculate the optimal trading path, compares prices across different liquidity pools, and splits orders to provide users with lower slippage, reduced network fees, and the best trading prices in multi-chain and cross-chain scenarios.

Currently, OKX DEX supports trading on 10+ chains, aggregates 100+ major DEXs, and lists over 100,000 currencies. It also integrates mainstream cross-chain bridges like cBridge, MultiChain, and SWFT, making it possible to trade any asset on any chain through a single platform.

Checking Currency Prices

In the OKX app, switch to the Web3 Wallet to view currency prices. OKX DEX offers a market feature that allows you to track popular currencies. Click Trade > Market to explore trending lists, Layer 2, DeFi, and other categories. You can view trading prices, price changes, and trading volumes for various currencies. Click on any currency to start trading.

Enter the pay and receive currencies (e.g., ETH and USDC). Click > to expand and view the ETH/USDC price trend. Clicking on a currency like ETH will take you to its details page, where you can check real-time quotes, trades, liquidity pools, and general currency information.

Swap & Cross-Chain Transactions

Click Trade to access the Swap & Cross-Chain page. OKX DEX currently supports single-chain swaps on 16 chains and cross-chain swaps on 9 chains.

  1. Swap: Refers to converting currencies on the same public chain. For example, exchanging ETH and USDT on the Ethereum network. Enter the amount you want to swap, click Exchange, and confirm the transaction in your wallet.
  2. Cross-Chain Swap: Involves converting assets between different public chains. For example, exchanging ETH on Ethereum for USDC on zkSync Era. Enter the amount, click Cross-Chain Swap, and confirm the transaction in your wallet.

Additionally, OKX DEX offers a Gas Swap feature, allowing you to quickly convert mainstream assets like USDT, USDC, DAI, or WETH into Gas fees. This helps solve the problem of insufficient Gas fees for transactions.

For example, if you have USDT on OKTC but no OKT, and you want to convert USDT on OKTC to OKT on OKTC, select USDT_OKTC as the pay currency and OKT_OKTC as the receive currency. Click Exchange > Supplement OKT > Exchange Gas, review the pay currency and amount, click Supplement OKT, and enter your password to complete the Gas exchange.

Participating in DeFi with OKX Wallet

The OKX Web3 Wallet provides a discovery portal that aggregates a vast number of DApp interfaces. Users can search or browse DApps through rankings in categories like DeFi, chain games, NFT markets, and tools. You can filter DApps by chain and click to jump to them. To use a DApp, simply connect your wallet. Frequently used DApps can be added to My Favorites by clicking the heart icon for easy access.

The DeFi module in OKX Wallet currently integrates with 30+ public chains, including Ethereum, BTC, SUI, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Optimism, Avalanche, Polygon, and Tron. It supports protocols like Compound, Aave, and Uniswap V3, offering investment strategy tools and covering most Web3 applications.

To access DeFi products, open the OKX Web3 Wallet and click the DeFi button at the bottom. The top section automatically recommends popular projects and displays details such as APY.

DeFi products are categorized into seven modules: Stablecoins, Popular Currencies, Protocols, Reward Pools, V3 Pools, Liquid Staking Tokens, and Points. Click any module to explore.

Users can select investment products of interest, view details including historical performance, and use the one-click swap feature to convert wallet currencies into the required assets for investment. After investing, check your holdings to monitor performance and manage investments. If you hold BRC-20 assets, you can also participate in staking to earn rewards.
